Research focuses on characterizing intracellular signaling mechanisms which regulate endothelial cell functions and/or responses to environmental cues. Vascular injury has been implicated in the pathogenesis of disorders such as sepsis and acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Identification of molecules key in regulating endothelial cell functions may lead to therapeutic strategies for controlling vascular tissue damage and enhancing repair.Past or Present Projects Available:
1) Endothelial Barrier Function Modulation by PKCdelta2) Signal Transducers of Lung Endothelial Barrier Dysfunction
3) SHP2 and Pulmonary Endothelial Barrier Function
4) Molecular Mechanisms Involved in Oxidant-Induced Microvascular Endothelium Injury
