Research Summary
Biological questions addressed include morphology, pattern formation, force generation and motility of cells. Research on cell motility covers experiments on adhesion, spreading and migration of human white blood cells, on reconstituting actin based propulsion using enzyme coated beads in cellular extracts, and on bacterial swimming, accumulation and adhesion.
Past or Present Projects Available:
Bacterial swimming and adhesion; bioremediation involving metal binding of bacterial surfaces; cell spreading and crawling; chemotaxis
