Research Summary

Research is directed at understanding the cellular and cytokine mechanisms regulating immune defenses. There is a particular interest in the responses to acute viral infections and links between innate and adaptive immunity. Basic pathways regulating natural killer (NK) and T cells are being defined. Focus includes regulation of the signal transducers and activators of transcription (STATs).

Past or Present Projects Available:

Natural killer cells, hematopoiesis and cytokines during viral infection; Defining pathways regulating NK cell loss during viral infection; Investigating the consequences of type 1 interferon receptor expression on NK cells; The early natural killer cell response to viral infections
