Research Summary

Dr. Katharine Phillips' research interests focus primarily on the treatment and psychopathology of body dysmorphic disorder (BDD), a severe, relatively common, and understudied disorder. She is conducting research on the course of BDD over time, suicidality in BDD, and pharmacotherapy treatment of BDD. She has several large databases from which manuscripts on BDD can be written. Dr. Phillips has a K24 grant from the National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) to mentor beginning investigators in interventions and psychopathology research.

Past or Present Projects Available:

Many undergraduate students have done projects with our lab on various aspects of BDD. Results from many of these projects have been presented as posters at scientific meetings, and some have resulted in publication in a scientific journal.
