Research Summary

We are now interested in making new reagents for reducing molecules based upon biological electron transfer. The starting compounds are iron based with proton sources so that they transfer one electron and one proton at a time. They may serve as new classes of antitumor agents by reducing oxygen and forming DNA damaging compounds in a tumor cell selective manner.

Past or Present Projects Available:

Synthesis and characterization of new iron based reducing agents that work in water. Some will be conjugated to biological compounds for DNA targeting and new classes of antitumor agents; The Role of miRNAs in Ovarian Cancer Metastasis
