Research Summary

Interested in the functional role of G proteins (GTP-binding proteins) and their regulators (Regulators of G protein Signaling) in the heart. They are crucial for the transmission of signals from the cell surface to the inside.

Past or Present Projects Available:

Role of RGS proteins in cardiomyocyte biology; Rose of RGS proteins in cardiac fibroblast biology; Cross-talk between cardiac myocytes and fibroblasts; Phenotypic characterization of genetically modified mouse models with altered G protein signaling; Role of G protein-mediated signaling and RGS in epac and periostin expression and localization in neonatal and adult rat cardiac myocytes and fibroblasts; A novel in vitro culture mode for cardiac myocyte investigation; Poly (lactide-co-glycolide) carbon nanofiber composite materials for myocardial repair; Assessing the development of Hypertrophy in Transgenic Mice expressing a negative regulator of G protein signaling (RGS2) in the heart
